AVA AND DONALD'S STORY
Life can spiral downward when health plummets. After Ava’s serious
health issues led them to move to Morrow to be near family, Donald
and Ava found an oasis of help from WCCS Supportive Services. They
helped reduce the cost of Ava’s 20 prescription medicines and found
them eligible to receive a 40-pound box of food each month from Shared Harvest Food Bank Program.
Difficulties continued, however. After life-saving heart surgery, Donald
had to go on oxygen. Again, WCCS has been there for them. The couple
now receives Meals on Wheels and medical transportation to doctor
appointments via the Senior Transportation program. WCCS has helped
relieve what would otherwise be overwhelming stress.
